The INSERM/Gustave Roussy laboratory “Apoptosis, Cancer & Immunity" (http://www.kroemerlab.com) is seeking a data scientist/bioinformatician to strengthen the computational capacities of the group. The post is located at the Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers in the historical center of Paris. You will work at the frontiers of scientific innovation, in the areas of cancer, immunology, metabolism and ageing. You will design approaches to mine pre-clinical data and omics data generated by the laboratory as well as publicly available datasets with the overarching goal to foster the comprehension of biological phenomena related to ageing, obesity and cancer.  

Missions:

•     Develop analysis pipelines for internal genomics and metabolomics data together with public datasets
•     Drive the analysis of pre-clinical and epidemiological studies
•     Support biologists by means of the statistical analysis of their experiments
•     Contribute to scientific publications and presentations
•     Organise the computational and technological intelligence

   
Requirements:

•     At least MSc (or equivalent) in statistics, computer sciences, bioinformatics and related areas
•     Excellent knowledge of biostatistics, data mining, machine learning and bioinformatics
•     Demonstrated experience of applying and implementing megavariate analysis in particular to human health related areas
•     Familiar with transcriptomics, genomics, post-genomics and metabolomics data
•     Good command of programming and scripting languages including R, SQL, Perl/Python or Java/C
•     Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
•     Sound knowledge of English
•     Interest in biology and its medical applications
