genefilter Package not available for R 3.5.2

I am trying to install the package MODEEST which depends on package GENEFILTER. I am using R version 3.5.2. I get an error message that says genefilter is not available for R (version 3.5.2). Is there any workaround for this issue? Should I use an older version of R?

BiocManager::install("genefilter") 
sessionInfo()
