Dear readers and Bioc Support Staff,

Since two days ago, I have an issue when I try to update the RELEASE_3_11 of KnowSeq package. I wanted to fix some bugs and when I did the push I encountered the following error:

remote: FATAL: W refs/heads/RELEASE_3_11 packages/KnowSeq myUser DENIED by fallthru remote: error: hook declined to update refs/heads/RELEASE_3_11 To git.bioconductor.org:packages/KnowSeq ! [remote rejected] RELEASE_3_11 -> RELEASE_3_11 (hook declined) error: failed to push some refs to 'git@git.bioconductor.org:packages/KnowSeq'

This error only occurs when I work under the RELEASE_3_11 branch because the master (devel) branch was successfully pushed. I have been trying to solve it during those days without success. Any aid will really be useful.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Daniel.

The RELEASE_3_11 branch of Bioconductor was frozen on October 12th as announced and documented for the release schedule . You will not be able to update the RELEASE_3_11 branch. Next week at release time the RELEASE_3_12 branch will be created by the core team for the new release.

Hi Daniel,

The freeze of the RELEASE_3_11 branch was announced on the bioc-devel mailing list. Please remember that Bioconductor developers are expected to follow important announcements there. Also questions related to the development/maintenance of your package should be asked there.

Thanks,

H.

Thanks a lot for your reply! I didn't know that this branch was frozen due to the next bioc release. I'll be watching the bioc-devel mailing list for further announcements.

Best,

Daniel.
