Hi all,

I am trying to follow the vingette for STRINGdb. When I run the code:

string_db <- STRINGdb$new( version="10", species=9606, score_threshold=0, input_directory="" )

I get the error:

Error in open.connection(file, "rt") : cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:
In open.connection(file, "rt") :
  unable to connect to 'string.uzh.ch' on port 80.

Is this an error on my network's end, or the string database? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Michelle

Dear Michelle,

I'm Damian, one of the package maintainers. First of all thanks for using STRING's R-package and really sorry for the inconvenience. The server, where we store the files R-package is using, died on us today. We are trying to resolve the issue ASAP. Everything should be up and running tomorrow.

Best regards, and again, sorry for that.

Damian.

In addition: Warning message:
