Hi Martin,

Do you have any additional information about poster abstract submission to the conference?

Cheers,

Is registration still open? The link on the bioconductor site is not working.

(Sorry for the multiple posts, my boss said I can only go if I get the early bird pricing!)

Registration should still be open, unless there was a surge (not impossible!) in registrations taking us to the limit. I'll update shortly...

Registration was indeed at capacity. We've increased the number of slots slightly, so registration is now open again.

I would also like to know if I can submit an abstract for either a poster, a community talk or a developer lightning talk.

The information currently on the Bioc2017 is only about F1000Research and overleaf, which are not clear to me.

The lightning talks do not require an abstract; they will be solicited on a more ad hoc basis closer to the conference. Poster submissions should be up by the end of today. Unfortunately, the community talks are 'by invitation', with speakers already chosen.

See you in Boston!

Hi Martin,

Is there any confirmation email for presenting a poster?

There will be communication after the deadline (July 15!). Your abstract has been received.

Hi Martin,

I am planning to attend the BioC2017 conference and am interested in presenting a lightning talk on a recent submission to Bioconductor. Will the lightning talk application be on the BioC2017 website and do you have any more information on when we could expect to see that?

Also, I applied for a scholarship but have not acquired housing yet because I was not sure what was meant when the scholarship said it would cover "shared" accommodation. I do not want to wait too long to get housing so I was wondering, do I need to get a certain type of housing for it to be covered by the scholarship if I am selected or would any housing be fine (even an individual room)?

Thanks,

John

Expect developer day lightning talk sign-up several weeks before the conference, on the conference web site.

Scholarship housing is usually arranged by us at one of the conference hotels; scholarship recipients should be informed by the end of this week.
