Hi! Thanks for all the work on an organized and useful website. I've found biocViews like this one https://bioconductor.org/packages/release/BiocViews.html#___ExperimentData produce tables that are inaccessible with a screen reader. I've tested on Mac with Safari and Chrome. The screen reader sees that there is a table and it produces a description of the number of rows and columns but it cannot read the contents.

Also, while submitting this question, I am unable to interact with the "type of post" field.

hello. Thanks for your post, I'll post this also to the biocwebsite channel on the Bioconductor community slack.

I second the thanks for this post. I just tried the screen reader with macOS and see that the handling of our package tables is poor. However, I could not find an example table that the reader processed in a natural way. Do you have any examples?

I suspect we could not do much in short order to improve the tables at bioconductor.org. But we might be able to reprocess the table data into a more accessible format, and host at a different address. If you can point to some examples of more accessible table formatting, we can put some effort into this.

I watched and that shows some principles that are not followed in the markup for the tables at bioconductor.org. We'll discuss options to improve the situation in core.
