Hello, Im new to DMRcate, and have a question about setting the p-cutoff value in the dmrcate() function. I realize that the default setting of the p-cutoff parameter is recommended to limit Type I errors, but am curious as to how this default is set? Is there a way to access what the default setting is for that specific contrast?
Also, I am curious about how to interpret results from increased p-cutoff parameter settings. For example, if my contrast returns no significant probes, and I set dmrcate(pcutoff = 0.0001), which yields three DMRs, can I report interpret these as significant DMRs? Or only nominally significant? Is there a guideline/ballpark Stouffer's value I can use as a general threshold?
I would love any help in or advice regarding this topic! Thanks in advance!
