The Walters lab (University of Kansas) is seeking a collaborator with expertise in statistical analysis of RNA-seq expression data and Bioconductor package development.
This collaborator, paid as a contractor, will play a lead role in implementing a Bioconductor package that applies mixed-effects linear models to RNA-seq expression data, with the primary aim of analyzing sex chromosome dosage compensation. The project is funded by an NSF grant, and is briefly outlined here: https://walterslab.github.io/doseR/
We anticipate work will be performed remotely for a set fee. We anticipate compensation will be in the range of $5k-15k USD (depending on extent of involvement), for work conducted over 3-6 months. Authorship on packages and publications is also anticipated. Immediate start is desirable. Applications from outside the USA are welcome.
