In my results for package submission I got the following error message in regards to my registration for this support site. I have an account on the support site so I am uncertain what is causing the error . Is there something else I need in this account to qualify for package submission?

* Checking for support site registration... Maintainer is registered at support site. Error in strsplit(content(response)$watched_tags, split = ",") : non-character argument Calls: BiocCheck ... is.factor -> mysub -> sub -> is.factor -> unlist -> strsplit Execution halted

Well the good news is that Checking for support site registration... Maintainer is registered at support site. means you're passing the test. It's picking up your account here, so no need to worry about that.

The Error in strsplit(content(response)$watched_tags, split = ",") : non-character argument Calls: BiocCheck ... is.factor -> mysub -> sub -> is.factor -> unlist -> strsplit Execution halted part looks more like a problem with BiocCheck itself. It's trying to makes sure that you've added the name of the package you're checking to the "watched tags" in your profile, but that isn't working correctly for some reason. It's probably good to make sure you've done that (that might even fix it) but it doesn't look to me like the actual error is your problem.

Thanks for reporting it, hopefully the maintainers of BiocCheck will see this and either know the solution or fix the underlying issue.

Also, if you're writing a package, it's better to direct questions about development to the developers mailing list. You can sign up at https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/bioc-devel

The bioc-devel list is a good place for general questions about the development of your package.

For specific questions about the submission process, including questions about the output of the reports generated by the SPB (Single Package Builder), we encourage you to use the #package-submission channel of our Community Slack (the link to this Slack is on the home page of our website). Note that this is a new channel. We've just created it today and will announce more formally soon.

Cheers,

H.
