I am a biologist, and new to "R" and Bioconductor, however I have performed RMA analysis on my chips using the affy package and am now trying to do GCRMA. I have downloaded all the packages I believe I need into R, including matchprobes. However I cant find the probe packages for any of the chips (I need RGU34A) and cant work out how to make one from the Vignette "Handling probe sequence information: the package matchprobes". This vignette says that the sequence packages should be available at the Bioconductor site but I cant find them. Is there any more info out there that I can get? Thankyou

At your R prompt, enter the following : library("reposTools") install.packages2("rgu34aprobe") If that fails look for the probe packages (last 2 columns) of http://www.bioconductor.org/data/metaData.html. Download and install either the source or windows version depending on your operating system. Dear All: I have a txt file with MAS5 read outs of 201 133A chips, I did it in windows. I have read it into R and I just wonder how do I make an exprset from it. (my MAS5 file only contains the signal intensity information, with probe_sets the leftest column, one sample per column across the whole file). I tried using new("exprSet",exprs=myobject, phenoData=***). It won't work. Thanks for your help Hao
