I have been investigating how to update DESeq2 to version 1.3.35. When I entered: >source("http://bioconductor.org/biocLite.R") >biocLite("DESeq2") My DESeq2 updated to 1.2.9. I read that in order to get 1.3.35 bioconductor has to be updated from 2.13 to 2.14. However, it seems the current release of bioconductor is 2.13, and 2.14 is still being developed. Is Bioconductor version 2.14 unavailable for use right now? And is my information correct or is there a way to update DESeq2 to version 1.3.35? -- output of sessionInfo(): > sessionInfo() R version 3.0.2 (2013-09-25) Platform: x86_64-w64-mingw32/x64 (64-bit) locale: [1] LC_COLLATE=English_United States.1252 LC_CTYPE=English_United States.1252 [3] LC_MONETARY=English_United States.1252 LC_NUMERIC=C [5] LC_TIME=English_United States.1252 attached base packages: [1] stats graphics grDevices utils datasets methods base loaded via a namespace (and not attached): [1] tools_3.0.2 -- Sent via the guest posting facility at bioconductor.org.

Hi Kyle, DESeq2 1.3.35 is part of the current developer branch of bioc (2.14) [http://bioconductor.org/packages/devel/bioc/html/DESeq2.html], while the DESeq2 1.2.9 is part of the stable release (bioc 2.13). If you want to use DESeq2 1.3.35, you should consider upgrading your bioc installation to the developer branch: http://www.bioconductor.org/developers/how-to/useDevel/ Best wishes Julian On 02/03/2014 07:59 AM, Kyle Lambert [guest] wrote: > > I have been investigating how to update DESeq2 to version 1.3.35. yes. Also below is a thread of recent responses from Dan and Steve regarding solutions to using release and devel version of R. Caveat: this can potentially take a significant amount of time to get it right if you want to run both release and devel versions of R, depending on the particulars of your current setup. https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/bioconductor/2014-January/057154.html On Mon, Feb 3, 2014 at 8:14 AM, Julian Gehring <julian.gehring@embl.de>wrote: > Hi Kyle, > > DESeq2 1.3.35 is part of the current developer branch of bioc (2.14) [ > http://bioconductor.org/packages/devel/bioc/html/DESeq2.html], while the > DESeq2 1.2.9 is part of the stable release (bioc 2.13).
