Italy/Turin/University of Torino
Bioinformatics and Genomics unit @ Molecular Biotecnology Center,
Torino
(Italy) is pleased to announce the 3rd edition of the Introductory
hands-on course on RNAseq (25-27 March 2014).
This course is organized by B&Gu <http: www.bioinformatica.unito.it=""/>
with guest speakers from Illumina <http: www.illumina.com=""/>and
Singapore Immunology Network
<http: www.bioinformatica.unito.it="" %28http:="" www.sign.a-star.edu.sg="" i="" ndex.php?option="com_research&task=pi_details_profile&pi_id=28&Itemid=7" 1%29="">.
The course is suitable for biologists who are new to RNA-seq
technology.
Additionally, if you have analyzed gene expression data from
microarrays
and would now like to do projects using RNA-seq technology, then this
workshop will enable you to gather information on the critical issue
on
RNA-seq from sample prep to data analysis.
The course is based on the use of Bioconductor
<http: www.bioconductor.org=""> open-source software. However, R
<http: www.r-project.org=""> coding skill is not required since all the
analyses are done using oneChannelGUI
<http: bioconductor.org="" packages="" release="" bioc="" html="" onechannelgui.html="">,
a graphical interface to Bioconductor tools, designed for life
scientists who are not familiar with R language.
Knowledge of statistics is not necessary prior to attending the
course.
Further course information, agenda and logistics can be found in the
course booklet <http: www.bioinformatica.unito.it="" rnaseq.pdf="">.
