Dear Bioconductor Gods, I'm getting a write access error to /usr/lib/R/library. Is there some way to override the library location so I don't have get root access on our server to install bioconductor? Our sys admins tend to only install rpms. -- -Robert

While I personally haven't had any sort of apotheosis, I can say that I answered essentially the same question yesterday on this list: https://www.stat.math.ethz.ch/pipermail/bioconductor/2004-June/004894. html -J

Thanks, I just found a similar solution using the getBioC(destdir="/blah") and it seems to be working. I assume that setting the R_LIB environment variable will let everyone see this new library.
