Dear fellow Bioconductors,
(Apologies for cross-posting)
I have an opening in my group. See below.
Best regards,
Mark
-------------
Postdoctoral Position in Statistical Genomics.
The Robinson Statistical Bioinformatics group at Institute of
Molecular Life Sciences, University of Zurich (a research group of the
Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics), has an exciting post-doctoral
research opportunity for a motivated and numerically proficient
candidate. Our group develops statistical and computational methods
for processing and interpreting genome-scale datasets in close
collaboration with biologists, and spans basic science and clinical
applications.
For further information, see <http: tiny.cc="" mrobin="">.
The new appointee will contribute to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary
environment with a strong focus on the analysis of data from high-
throughput genomic technologies (e.g. massively parallel sequencing,
microarrays). Several exciting projects are now underway, including
but not limited to methods for integration and interpretation of
epigenome datasets and methods for differential analysis of count
(e.g. RNA-seq) data.
We are looking for a talented, motivated, team-oriented scientist with
a background in a relevant numerical discipline, such as statistics,
mathematics or physics. A solid foundation in data analysis and
programming in a Unix/Linux (preferably with R and Bioconductor) is a
must. Knowledge of basic biology is considered an asset.
We invite strong candidates holding a PhD in Bioinformatics or PhD in
a numerical discipline with appropriate experience to send their
application including CV, brief statement of research interests and
relevant data analysis experience, names and email addresses of at
least 2 referees before November 11th, 2012 by e-mail to
<mark.robinson at="" imls.uzh.ch="">.
