i agree that sometimes the dirs are sometimes necesary. thats why i suggest we implement an option, say 'showdirs=T' btw, i forgot to mention that on the system where im testing this (redhat 7.1 running R 1.5) if you select a directory nothing happens. You cannot know how your users have their data stored. Also, as regards the .CEL/CDF file thing -- it will probably be a good idea to follow the dChip model (and one used by lots of others), and have yet another widget that sets up 1) where the CEL files are 2) where the CDF file is 3) where output will be saved (if done automatically) Then, the fileBrowser widget is activated by a Browse button at those locations in your applications pop up widget. It is reasonably important not to try to do too many things with one tool (this leads to non-modular code and can lock you in to things that you never intended). r > > btw, i forgot to mention that on the system where im testing this (redhat > 7.1 running R 1.5) if you select a directory nothing happens. > > On Mon, 1 Apr 2002, Robert Gentleman wrote: > > > On Mon, Apr 01, 2002 at 02:18:57PM -0500, Rafael A.
