For more information and registration, please see our web page => http://workshops.gene-quantification.info next course Real-time or quantitative PCR (qPCR) allows quantification of starting amounts of DNA, cDNA, or RNA templates. qPCR is based on the detection of a fluorescent reporter molecule that increases as PCR product accumulates with each cycle of amplification. Fluorescent reporter molecules include dyes that bind double-stranded DNA (i.e. SYBR Green I) or sequence-specific probes (i.e. Molecular Beacons or TaqMan® Probes). qPCR exceeds the limitations of traditional end-point PCR methods by allowing either absolute or relative quantification of the PCR product at the end of each cycle. This qPCR Workshop is an introductory course with theoretical and practical sessions. Participants will get an overview of qPCR technology from sampling to data analysis. Hands-on experiments show how to perform qPCR experiments under the supervision of Dr. Martina Reiter and Dr. Michael Pfaffl, both experts in qPCR technology and data analysis.
