A dynamic, molecular diagnostics company focused on cancer is looking
for a
highly qualified person to work on several challenging genomic
projects
underway. The projects involve analysis of large, complex
multidimensional
biological datasets generated from genomic or metabolomic technologies
through collaborations with multi-disciplinary teams. The successful
candidate will join a highly motivated, collaborative and multi-
disciplinary
team focused on developing clinical molecular diagnostics tests. Key
responsibilities will include data management, data analysis,
programming
and reporting, as needed for the projects. The candidate should have
a
degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, or biostatistics and
strong
scientific skills.
Key responsibilities:
. Provide informatics support to molecular diagnostics
programs.
. Responsible for QC, normalization and analysis of microarray
data.
. Provide expertise to analyze multidimensional data generated
by
genomic technologies, including microarrays, exon arrays and miRNA
arrays
and SNPs.
. Responsible for data management and administration of
project
databases.
. Implement various analyses and reporting tools in
R/Bioconductor.
. Report results of analyses for project reports,
presentations and
peer review publications.
Key skills:

large-scale database frameworks such as caBIG or alike is desirable.
. Good understanding of the scientific principles of high-
throughput
genomic technologies including microarrays, exon arrays, miRNA, deep
sequencing etc is highly desirable.
. Biostatistics skills would be beneficial.
. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively as part of a
team
and to report results of analyses.
The candidate may have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer
Science,
or Statistics and have demonstrated familiarity with statistical
biocomputing tools and a track record in a research or corporate
environment.
