So I have a fresh install of Snow Leopard on my macbook. I have downloaded graphviz-2.24.pkg and when I try to install it, I get an installation error at the very end. Can anyone else using Snow Leopard reproduce this before I chase down what is going on? I mean I would like to know if this is an incompatibility with the latest graphviz and Snow Leopard or just something to do with my local system. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

The problem is with the installer for the graphviz-2.24.0.pkg. It works on Leopard but not Snow Leopard. The developers are aware of this problem and are working on it. Actually, the person who works on the mac platform has yet to obtain a copy of Snow Leopard, so it might be a wee bit before anything is done. One the plus side, those who maintain macports have made the necessary modifications so that sudo port install graphviz will install graphviz properly, albeit in another location ("/opt/local/bin" I believe). If you chose to install from the former (not macports), and it fails on you...it will install almost all of graphviz. Rgraphviz will not play nice with this!
