Dear List, I am using the Agilent 4x44k mouse expression arrays (cat# 4122f); the closest match on the BioC annotation packages list is mgug4122a (which is for the 1x44k chips). Can I use it? Its seems to be working fine, I just wanted to know whether I had overlooked anything. thanks in advance All the Best Klemens -- Klemens Vierlinger Molecular Diagnostics _____________________________________ Austrian Research Centers GmbH - ARC Life Sciences 2444 Seibersdorf, Austria T +43 (0) 50 550-3582, F +43 (0) 50 550-3653 klemens.vierlinger at arcs.ac.at http://www.arcs.ac.at _____________________________________ FBN: 115980i HG Wien, UID: ATU14703506

Hi Klemens, Yes, you are fine. The mgug4122a is named from the 1x44k mouse arrays. All of the non-control probes have the same names and corresponding sequences between the 4x44k and the 1x44k arrays. This also applies to hgug4112a on the human side. The differences between the 4x44k and 1x44k relate to the nature of the control probes, the position of the probes and, in some cases, the number of times a probe is replicated on the array. None of this information is on the annotation package, so you are getting exactly what you want.
