Hello Pan, et al,
I've been discussing the possibility with some collegues of uploading
to
GEO some of our Illumina array data using nuID probes as the main
identifier.
Is this a bad idea?
Is anyone planning on doing something similar in the near future? I
haven't previously submitted to GEO, but I guess one doesn't want to
end
up creating a new "platform" for every new annotation... Is there a
plan
to have "bioconductor" specific platforms in GEO?
Thanks,
Cei

There is no plan to have bioconductor-specific platforms in GEO. If
you do
not want to create a new platform, then you have no choice but to use
the
ones that are already in GEO; I doubt that any use nuID. That said, I
do
not think that uploading to GEO using nuID is a bad idea, as nuID has
a lot
of nice characteristics.
