GEO and nuId probes

Hello Pan, et al, I've been discussing the possibility with some collegues of uploading to GEO some of our Illumina array data using nuID probes as the main identifier. Is this a bad idea? Is anyone planning on doing something similar in the near future? I haven't previously submitted to GEO, but I guess one doesn't want to end up creating a new "platform" for every new annotation... Is there a plan to have "bioconductor" specific platforms in GEO? Thanks, Cei

If you do not want to create a new platform, then you have no choice but to use the ones that are already in GEO; I doubt that any use nuID. That said, I do not think that uploading to GEO using nuID is a bad idea, as nuID has a lot of nice characteristics. Sean [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
