I am unable to load the Affy package (version 1.18.2) using a MacBook Pro (intel core duo processor) with R (version 2.7.0) and Bioconductor (2.2). Here is the error message received: Le chargement a nécessité le package : affylmGUI Le chargement a nécessité le package : limma Le chargement a nécessité le package : tcltk Chargement de Tcl/Tk... terminé Le chargement a nécessité le package : affy Le chargement a nécessité le package : affyio Le chargement a nécessité le package : preprocessCore Error in dyn.load(file, DLLpath = DLLpath, ...) : impossible de charger la bibliothèque partagée '/Library/ Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.7/Resources/library/affy/libs/i386/ affy.so': dlopen(/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.7/Resources/ library/affy/libs/i386/affy.so, 6): Library not loaded: /usr/local/ lib/libintl.3.dylib Referenced from: /Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.7/ Resources/library/affy/libs/i386/affy.so Reason: image not found Erreur : le package 'affy' ne peut être chargé [Workspace restored from /.RData] I reinstalled the package several times, but it is still not working. Any suggestion? Luc Vallieres, Ph.D. Assistant Professor Laval University Hospital Research Center Quebec, Canada [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

We have recently had a discussion about this error on the list. There seems to be something broken in the binary builds of bioconductor. To install affy do the following: install the latest version of Xcode (v3 if you are using Leopard) and then install from source by R> options(pkgType = "source") R> biocLite("affy") Kasper On Jun 23, 2008, at 9:25 AM, Luc Vallieres wrote: > I am unable to load the Affy package (version 1.18.2) using a MacBook > Pro (intel core duo processor) with R (version 2.7.0) and > Bioconductor (2.2).
