Hi,
Here is an update of information on the BioConductor Developer
Workshop, to be
held in Lausanne, Switzerland on 4-5 April 2007. If you have already
registered, you should receive an email with this information, please
let me
know if you did not get it. And there are still places available,
send me an
email if you are interested in registering.

Details
The schedule is still being arranged, but should be between about 9.00
- 17.00
on both days.
The meeting will take place at the University of Lausanne, in room
Amphimax 414
(Quartier Sorge). The closest metro stop is Unil-Sorge (NOT Unil-
Dorigny).

Lodging
The University can obtain a discount rate from some of the local
hotels:
Hotel des Voyageurs (http://www.holidaycityeurope.com/comfort-
lausanne/),
approx 122CHF, is in downtown Lausanne on a pedestrian street
Hotel du Parc (http://www.leparc.ch/), approx 110 CHF, is in Ecublens
a few
metro stops from the University.
To obtain the discount we must book the room for you. If you want to
book one
of these, then please send an email as soon as possible to
Jocelyne.Muller at licr.org, letting her know which hotel you prefer,
what days you
need and how many in the room (single or double). If booking a double
room,
only 1 email with both names is necessary. Alternatively, you are free
to make
your own lodging arrangements; if you do so, please email
Darlene.Goldstein at
epfl.ch so that we know you are already taken care of.
Getting to Lausanne
The closest airport is in Geneva. There is a train station at the
airport
(Geneva Airport, NOT Geneva), with 3-5 trains per hour to Renens VD
and
Lausanne. You can plan your train journey (in English) at
http://www.sbb.ch/en/index.htm
You can also change the language to German, French or Italian.
The currency in Switzerland is the Swiss Franc (CHF), equivalent to
approximately 0.80 US dollar, 0.60 Euro, or 0.40 British pounds
sterling.
Exchanging money is very easy in Switzerland, you can change money at
major
train stations (including at the airport) and banks, or at cash
machines using
debit or credit cards.
About Lausanne
Lausanne, the capital of the Swiss canton Vaud, is a hilly city
located on the
shore of Lake Geneva (Lac L?man) in the French-speaking part of
Switzerland. It
is the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee, and home
to several
museums, parks and other attractions.
