A postdoctoral position in translational bioinformatics and cancer immunotherapy is available in the Translational Immunoinformatics Laboratory (TIIL) directed by Jason Luke, MD and Riyue Bao, PhD, within the Cancer Immunotherapeutics Center (CIC) of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Projects are in the areas of translational bioinformatics and cancer immunotherapy, in particular, integrating multi-omics data (genomics, proteomics, metagenomics, metabolics, and spatial omics collected from clinical trials or public/internal databases) to interrogate the interaction among compartments of tumor immune microenvironment and nominate new therapeutic targets for future clinical trials with development of novel computational approaches and statistical models. The work will be executed through multi-disciplinary collaborations at the Hillman Cancer Center and University of Pittsburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to receive translational bioinformatics, tumor immunology, and cancer immunotherapy training in an academic lab with strong industrial collaborations. The TIIL is seeking competitive candidates who have recently earned a PhD and/or MD degree and possess excellent programming, analytical, written and verbal English communication skills. Experience in immunology is highly desirable. Excellent skills in bioinformatics, database mining, and statistical modeling are expected. Experience with spatial analyses of human tissues, multi-omics data integration, and biomedical data is a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience and based on current NIH guidelines. Additionally, the candidate may be eligible for a Hillman Postdoctoral Fellowship for Innovative Cancer Research (https://hillmanresearch.upmc.edu/research/hillman-fellows/postdoctoral/). The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is ranked #5 in NIH funding, and Pittsburgh has been consistently voted as one of the top livable cities in the US. To apply for a position, please send your curriculum vitae, a one-page summary of your research interests (together with recommendations) to Drs. Luke and Bao at lukejj@upmc.edu and baor@upmc.edu . Applications will be reviewed and evaluated on an ongoing basis, following the receipt of all required materials. The University of Pittsburgh is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer. EEO/AA/M/F/Vets/Disabled.
