Applications are invited for two summer vacation studentships. We are looking for 2nd year or later Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Medicine students with excellent programming skills in Python and/or R), who would like to be involved in leading-edge cancer research. Knowledge of biology is not required.

The MRC Cancer Unit is an academic department of the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge. The Samarajiwa lab (https://www.samarajiwa-lab.org/) utilizes computational biology & data science approaches to understand cancer. The projects will involve using computational approaches together with large biomedical datasets to understand complex systems involved gene and proteome regulation and identify processes and entities that drive cancer formation and progression. Start date is negotiable (usually in June) and projects are usually between 10-12 weeks in duration. Payment: £180 per week to support your living costs.
