I used bwlabel in Rstudio I need to extract connected components in an image and show the largest and also smallest connected component as a new image

It is possible that https://www.huber.embl.de/msmb/Chap-Images.html#sec:segbin answers your question. I.e, from the output of table, you get the sizes of the regions, and then you can select them based on the values in the output of bwlabel.
