Research Associate in Applied Statistical Bioinformatics -------------------------------------------------------- Salary Scale D31 (?20,044- ?30,002) The Computational Biology Research Group (CBRG) is seeking to appoint a three-year Research Associate in Applied Statistical Bioinformatics. The position offers an exciting and unique opportunity to work alongside experimental scientists in the Medical Science Division (MSD) and statistical bioinformaticians in the Department of Statistics; and develop a research career within the rapidly expanding field of statistical bioinformatics. Supported as part of a collaboration between the CBRG and the Department of Statistics the primary role of the post holder will be to assist in the experimental design, analysis and storage of data generated by gene expression and other modern genomic platforms. Candidates will ideally have a strong background in modern statistics and its applications. Knowledge of bioinformatics is desirable but not essential, relative to a desire to learn and work on interesting statistical applications in the biosciences. The post holder will also be given freedom and encouragement to further develop statistical methodology for the analysis of genomic data structures.
