Our Dept has several positions (including Assistant/Associate Professor position) in statistics computing opening. We expect to hire people to develop web-based statistical software and mathematical modeling tools (R-based) for immunology data. If you have any students, friends or colleagues who may be interested in these positions, could you forward the attached job ads to them? Thanks a lot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --- Hulin Wu, Ph.D., Professor of Biostatistics, Professor of Medicine and Professor of Community and Preventive Medicine Address: Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry 601 Elmwood Avenue, Box 630 Rochester, New York 14642 Office Tel. 585-275-6767 Fax 585-273-1031 Room # G-11311M, MRBX Building Email: hwu at bst.rochester.edu Website: http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/smd/biostat/people/faculty/wu.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --- Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor Position in Statistics and Computing Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry has an immediate opening for a Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor position in computing and statistics. Successful applicants are expected to have a strong background in statistics and computer science (PhD in one discipline and extensive experience in another discipline). Preference will be given to the candidate with experience in statistical software development and biomedical (in particular immunology/virology) research. The position involves serving as Co-Director of the Bioinformatics Core in the newly established Center for Biodefense Immune Modeling, with responsibilities for developing statistical methodologies and computational tools to support the research on immune response to viral infections. Responsibilities may also include supervising students, postdoctoral fellows and computer software developers to fulfill the goal of the Bioinformatics Core. Excellent communication skills are required. This position involves both methodological and collaboration research as well as some minimal teaching. Please send CV, three references and other supporting materials to Dr. Hulin Wu, C/O: Ms. Kevser Turhan (Job Code: Comp-1) Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Box 630, Rochester, NY 14642. Email: Kevser_Turhan at urmc.rochester.edu Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor Position in Biomathematics/Biostatistics Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry has an immediate opening for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position (depends on the qualifications) in biomathematical/biostatistics modeling. The potential candidates are expected to have a strong background in applied mathematics, especially in differential equations. Preference will be given to the candidate with experience in mathematical modeling of biomedical systems (in particular, immunology and infectious diseases modeling). The position involves serving as Co-Director of the Mathematical Modeling Core in the newly established Center for Biodefense Immune Modeling to develop mathematical models for immune response to viral infection based on immunological experiment data. Experience in computer simulations, numerical analysis and statistics is a plus. Good communication skills are essential. The position requires close collaboration with immunologists, statisticians, and computer software developers to develop immune response modeling and simulation systems. Please send CV, three references and other supporting materials to Dr. Hulin Wu, C/O: Ms. Kevser Turhan (Job Code: Math-1) Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Box 630, Rochester, NY 14642. -- best, -tony blindglobe at gmail.com Muttenz, Switzerland.
